WHO I AM
My name is Mariah Tuvey. I am originally from West Saint Paul, Minnesota and I am currently a student at the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota. I am pursuing elementary education with a concentration on teaching English as an additional language. At college, I am a member of the club volleyball team, the National Society of Leadership and Success, Homework Helpers, education club, optimist club, sustainability alliance, a student ambassador, and a teaching assistant in a first-grade classroom at an elementary school near my college campus.

In the summer of 2019, I began taking American Sign Language (ASL) classes. I love learning new languages and I am excited to use this one in my future classroom!

WHY I TEACH
I fell in love with teaching at a very young age. My mom was a teacher and became a daycare provider when I was two years old, so I have spent my whole life around kids. When I got to college, I realized the immense impact that a teacher can have on his or her students' lives. I decided to dedicate my life to becoming the best teacher (and learner) that I can be!
